3D Model Upload Requirements for 3D Panel Layout

Supported file details

Within the Eturnity Expert, we support the .glb file format. This format should include photogrammetry models; other types of models, especially point clouds, are not suggested as they are not user-friendly with Expert.

  • File size must be under 100MB.

  • Larger files may take longer to upload or may be difficult to work with in Expert (about a couple of minutes).

Important: The textured 3D model's scale and orientation must be real-world (set in meters and vertical following z coordinate) as 3D Panel Layout does not support changing the scale or orientation of the textured 3D model. You can validate your textured 3D model’s details using tools like BlenderGLTF Editor, or Creators3D Online Viewer

Workflow

There are two workflows for uploading and using textured 3D models: a general workflow and the Airteam partnership workflow. The general workflow is a bit more manual compared to the Airteam partnership workflow due to closer collaboration.

Workflows in detail:

Some shared functionalities after you upload the textured 3D model include:

  • Changing the opacity of the textured 3D model, which will impact the wall color of the editable 3D model.

  • Changing the roof wall color to a solid color or transparent in the Roof tool (by default, after uploading a textured 3D model, the roof wall color will be set to transparent).

  • Deleting it using the “Delete file overlay” button in the toolbar (this will only delete the file, not impact the editable 3D model).
