Both functions, groups and collective position, serve the purpose of grouping other components that you can create freely in your library, concerning naming, description, and price dependency.
Important:
Any previously created group can be converted into a collective position, and likewise, any collective position can be converted back into a group by checking the "Use as collective position" checkbox.
-
For each collective position, you can define whether the sub positions should be displayed on the PDF and whether the prices of the sub positions should also be displayed. You can control this by enabling the "Show sub positions on PDF" and "Show prices of sub positions on PDF" sliders, either directly in the library or in the bill of materials for the respective collective position in the project.
The top-level name of the collective position can be renamed at any time by clicking on the existing name.
-
In the generated PDF, a collective position stands out from the representation of a group with other components because the top-level position is bolded, and the sub positions are indented and presented as belonging to the top-level position, either with or without prices.
