Getting Started with the E-Mobility Add-On

In the following article, we provide an overview of the following points:

  • How can I use the E-Mobility Add-On?
  • Adding a new charging station/wallbox to my library
  • Using E-Mobility technology in a project template
  • Activating E-Mobility technology in a project retrospectively
  • Selecting an appropriate charging station for the project
  • Accounting for additional power consumption from the charging station for self-consumption
  • Presentation of the charging station in the PDF quotation

How can I use the E-Mobility Add-On?

To create offers including charging stations/wallboxes with the Eturnity Expert, the paid E-Mobility Add-On is necessary. If you don't have the E-Mobility Add-On yet, you can contact your customer success representative directly.

Adding a new charging station/wallbox to my library

To add a charging station to your offer, you need to first add it to your library. Charging stations, similar to photovoltaic panels or battery storage, are listed as their own main component category. If you cannot find them, the E-Mobility Add-On might not be included in your license.

Using E-Mobility technology in a project template

If you want to activate E-Mobility technology by default in one of your project templates, you must create a new project template and select the E-Mobility technology during its creation. It's not possible to modify the combination of technologies in existing project templates.

Activating E-Mobility technology in the project retrospectively

If you wish to add E-Mobility technology to an existing project, open the Variants menu on the left side in the project view. Then, in the Active Technologies column, select the E-Mobility button for the respective variant. The E-Mobility technology is active when the E-Mobility button is highlighted in green.

Selecting an appropriate charging station in the project

When E-Mobility technology is active in the current project variant, you can select E-Mobility from the left side of the project view. Here, similar to selecting a battery storage, you can choose an appropriate charging station that you previously added to your library.

Accounting for additional power consumption from the charging station for self-consumption

To account for the additional power consumption of the charging station in the simulation, navigate to the Photovoltaics menu in the project view and select Electricity usage. We recommend including the additional power consumption from the charging station in the annual consumption data. This typically increases self-consumption and improves the profitability of the PV-system. If the customer didn't have an electric car before, you can estimate the additional electricity consumption from the charging station and the electric car based on the customer's annual mileage.

Example:
The customer drives 10,000 km per year with the electric car. For simplification, you can calculate with a consumption of 20 kWh per 100 km.
Calculation: (10,000 km / 100 km) * 20 kWh = 2,000 kWh
Simplified calculation: 10,000 km * 0.2 = 2,000 kWh

Presentation of the charging station in the PDF quotation

For showcasing the charging station in the quotation, there is a specific page dedicated to the charging station (02b Information part E-Mobility). This page is automatically added to the PDF quotation when the E-Mobility technology is active in the current project variant, and you add a document template via the 'Add Document' button. If this is not the case, our support team at support@eturnity.com can assist you. You can also add the "02b Information part E-Mobility" page as a standalone page using the 'Add pages' button.
