Final release of the 3D Laouting (30 August 2023)

    As of August 30, new projects created in Expert, Solar calculator, via Lead Manager or an external API will be created as 3D project variants.

    Definition Legacy Layouting Variant and 3D Variant:

    Note: A Legacy Layouting variant can be duplicated to a 3D project variant, but not vice versa.

    Here is a listing of the project behaviour:

    Create new projects (created from Expert, Solar Calculator, Lead, external API):

    A 3D project variant is created.

    Copy project:

    If you copy an entire project, all variants are copied accordingly.
    e.g.: If you copy a project with a Legacy Layouting variant and a 3D variant, the new project will have a Legacy Layouting variant and a 3D variant.

    Duplicate Legacy Layouting variant:

    The Legacy Layouting variant can be duplicated as a Legacy Layouting variant or as a 3D variant.

    Duplicate 3D variant:

    The 3D variant is duplicated as a 3D variant.

    Add Photovolatics technology to a project variant:

    3D is activated in the project variant if PV was never activated in the legacy layouting variant.

    Reapply project template:

    The project template can be changed when creating a new project variant.
    • Legacy Layouting variant: If PV was active in the past for the existing legacy layouting variant, a new legacy layouting variant will be created for the new project template. A legacy layouting variant is also created if photovoltaics is activated later.
      If PV was never active in the existing legacy layouting variant, a 3D variant is created.
    • 3D variant: If the project template is changed during duplication, only a 3D variant can be generated.
